Simple yet deep and amazing
I have Always been a fan of Ruskin Bond books. Like all his other books this book is also simple yet touching, nostalgic, deep and as always - amazing. When I met Mr. Ruskin Bond 2 years back in Mansoori I asked him a question - "how can u convey all your thoughts with such simple words" and he smiled and said "because these are not my thoughts these are my feelings" :)

Nature At Its Best
Ruskin Bond is the best nature writer. The way he personalises the nature and its bounties speak volumes of his creative genius. Not even a single time one feels bored or left out. The vivid flowers, green trees , mountainous grass and dew drops scintillating in the rising sun enchant and enthuse one and all. The natural musings blended by Ruskin Bond cater to the creative needs of a hungry, thirsty and avid reading community. I recommend such a beautiful work of creativity for all!!!!

A short and heartwarming short stories collection
"Of course, the days and nights are seemingly shorter than they need to be! They must be, otherwise why do we hurry so much and achieve so little, by the standards of the past..."You know the feeling of walking on wet grass with bare feet while wind caresses your hair, the feeling of sitting against a window and simply witnessing rain falling against it, the feeling of listening to a song on loop just because it's beats feel pleasant to your ears, have you ever found yourself simply smiling and being happy just for the fact that you exist and your presence made you happy, so simple yet so special? Reading this book brought with it all those feelings and a lot more. With every story I fell in love with Bond's writing a little more!'Our Trees Still Grow In Dehra' is a collection of sixteen fascinating and exciting short stories. These stories are drawn from Bond's own life. There are stories from his childhood to his adolescence, adulthood and his present life. The reader is introduced to many of his friends, family and many other people who Bond has met through the course of his life and who impacted him in ways more than one. Do I even need to say there's hills and small towns and valleys? The writing flows like poetry and the landscape is so potently visual that I could actually picturise it. All in all, this one is a beautiful book that you should read if you're looking for light and breezy reads and of course for the nostalgia!Ending this with Bond's words:'As I walked home last nightI saw a lone fox dancingIn the cold moonlight.I stood and watched-- thenTook the low road, knowingThe night was his by right.Sometimes, when words ring true,I'm like a lone fox dancingIn the morning dew.'

Salute to my favorite writer
Delivery before time , thank you Amazon. Ruskin Bond is a very popular writer of our country. The good think is that you won't feel that you are reading stories in English just like reading in your mother tongue. These stories are based on his life incidents. Close to his and our heart. My favorite book is Blue umbrella and I find this book also very interesting.
