Total Control Plus - PS2 to Dreamcast adapter

I've always wanted a wireless controller for my Dreamcast and I thought that this product was the answer. Wrong! The box and the description for this product state that the adapter works with any PS2/PSX compatible controllers. It does not say officially licensed Sony PS2/PSX controllers only or wired controllers only. I had two expensive wireless Logitech PS2 controllers sitting around the house and figured I would buy two Total Control Plus Adapters. The controllers have always been excellent, they are my personal "favorite", and they actually display the official Playstation logo on them. Unfortunately, this adapter does not work with these controllers. Apparently, the adapter does work with other wireless PS2 controllers according to some YouTubers, but it is a coin toss in the end. Owning many consoles, including the most current ones, I own a Dreamcast for its nostalgia factor/value only and did not think that I would have to purchase additional wireless PS2 controllers in order to use the Total Control Plus adapters as I intended - wirelessly. By the way, the controllers I have are specifically called "Logitech PlayStation 2 Cordless Action Controllers"; they are black and have blue underneath the analog sticks and in the middle above the PS logo. Fortunately, I have lots of wired PS2 controllers (official and third party) and I was able to verify that the product actually does work if you have the right controller rather than "any" or "your favorite". Third party wired controllers seem to work fine. I guess the adapters are somewhat fussy - LOL. Also, another reviewer stated that the VMU port is VERY sensitive. This is true; you've got to get it in there just right. Overall, I was less than satisfied with the purchase, but I do not hold the seller responsible. I see it as a misleading product description caused by the manufacturer. It's still a cool product though. If you want a wireless Dreamcast (like I did), I guess you need to do some research before you buy, despite what it says on the box and in the product description... Whatever!!! Anyway, I hope this helps someone.

Anyways i bought this clearly for fighting games because even though the Dreamcast controller is great i prefer the Sony D-pad any day of the week. I bought two and they work as they supposed too just be VERY CAREFUL WITH THEM!. The VGA port can be flimsy and if you have any issues turn off the system first! before messing around with the adapter its says so on the box itself. I still have both and they both still work its just the VGA port can be flimsy and misread your VGA meaning you cant save during game play unless you place the adapter in a comfortable position. Other than that don't worry these are perfectly fine for the Dreamcast.

While this thing looks sketchy and cheap, it completely works, and even works in conjunction with other adapters. I was able to get a PS4 controller to work wirelessly with this by combining it with a brooks ps2 to ps4 adapter. Not being super familiar with the Dreamcast or having any ingrained memory of playing it, I can't say how the button layouts feel in most games. On the middle switch setting I found the controls to be perfectly intuitive when I tested it on Ecco though.

No noticeable input lag, works with standard vmu. Slightly disappointed that it will not work with 4x memory vmu, tested with Sega brand product. Overall still works well.

It just works, though I noticed that if you want to use the PSX analog, you have to turn it on, while the game loads, otherwise if you turn it on in game, the controls may be all out of whack. Keep that in mind, and you got your self a fine product!

You can use this adapter in conjunction with Brook’s PS3/PS4 to PS2 adapter to use a wireless Dual Shock 3 or 4 on your Dreamcast! And vibration works on Dreamcast games! And you can use a VMU. It works great with a regular Wired Dual Shock controller too.

Works Great, perfect for playing my ps1 backups using the dreamcast. On somr games you have to move that switch on the side for the buttons to work. It changes from game to game so far ive tried 10 games and had to keep moving that switch on the side from game to game but thats only a minor inconvenience for what the product offers. I highly recomend this product.

PS2 to Dreamcast adapter accepts PSX and PS2 controllers even Steering Wheels which I've already purchase and having good results with it even includes a VMU for your VMU memory cars so you can even use it as a addition memory card reader when not in use...
