Best of 3 I've Tried...
I've tried Spot Farms, Honest Kitchen, and Grandma Lucy's with my dogs over the last several months. Grandma Lucy's is the best in all categories I would grade, but it's also the most expensive of the three I've tried. Honest Kitchen is okay in quality, lower priced than Grandma Lucy's, and my kids will eat it. Spot Farms, and I've tried both this one and the turkey, comes out as the *best* value of the three.Spot Farms rehydrates with better expansion, fresher smells, and easier to serve consistency, than Honest Kitchen. And, Spot Farms is waaaaay less expensive than Grandma Lucy's (or, even, Honest Kitchen). On top of all that, my kids - one 70lb pit/lab mix, and one 13lb rat terrier - gobble it down faster than anything other than (the more expensive) Grandma Lucy's brand (I've tried pork & chicken of this brand). The best re-hydration mix is an equal amount of water-to-meal mix. That's not *quite* right. I add water in the measuring cup halfway to the next measurement. EX: I put three-quarters of meal-mix into a bowl, then fill the measuring cup to halfway between three-quarters and a full cup of water b4 heating the water for 80-85 seconds (1100 watt microwave). Mix *very* well so all the dry meal gets at least some moisture. After mixing, I use the fork to smooth the mix out in the bowl and let it sit for about 5 minutes. You'll end up with a "paste" that looks like the first pic I'll try and attach to this post. After the 5 minutes, I get the paste flipped over, "stir" with the fork, and flatten it out in the bowl again before dividing it into separate portions for my two dogs. I then, in their separate bowls, use the fork to "cut" the paste into appropriate sized chunks for them to eat out of their bowls (see second pic I'll try and attach).Really, if you are wanting to get your kids away from the poisons they put in dog foods nowadays - and try and prevent their succumbing to the increasing risk of cancers prevalent from these poisons - then Spot Farms have the product that is best in smell (as it rehydrates, the cranberries are almost overwhelming!), flavors, consistency, taste, cost, and value, of all three of the ones I've tried.FIRST TIME USE WARNING: the first time I made rehydrated food for my dogs, the little one dived right in, but my big girl turned her nose up and refused to eat it. I finally heated up some ground hamburger I had in the fridge and added some as a topper. After that first time, she's never turned her nose up at it again. Also note, if you are changing their diet to this from something different, you're likely to see irregularities in their bowel movements until their digestive system gets used to the new diet. I only feed this to them once a day, so I take the recommended serving size and halve it. For breakfast, they get high-end, no-grain, no coloring, no preservatives, canned food. What a difference such a diet makes! Their skin issues cleared up after a couple of months, and their energy levels increased dramatically after just a couple of weeks. If you can afford it, I can't recommend a better diet for your kids than one that includes dehydrated or freeze-dried food!

Great affordable dehydrated dog food
I have used this product for 6 months now and my 3 puppies love it. I use this once a day with a lick pad for my pugs. This is a good quality and lower calorie food. Like other reviewers have stated it is the consistency of oatmeal. As well I find it works better with warm water and thickens quickly. The smell is pretty bland. The size of the package, given only once a day, has lasted me over 6 months. If you want a little more smell and flavor, you can use some unsalted dog broth.

Please make again!!
By far the best dehydrated food, after 1.5 years of all sorts of issues with my little dog we started feeding her this last Dec and ever since every one of her problems went away.. I recently ran out of my last box and after finding out this was discontinued I was so nervous to change it up and rightfully so as she's already having skin and bowel problems without it... makes me so sad. Please bring this back, I'll pay double!!

Great value, dog is happy
Updated to add: did the recipe change? My dog went on strike with this food and stopped eating it unless it got a topping. He used to devour it! Our friend's dog eats the same stuff and had a similar reaction!--We switched from another product that comes in 10lb boxes and is nearly double the price for grain-free. My dog ate it right up and has happy. This is slightly chunkier than the other product but is otherwise super similar in ingredients and ratios. Easier clean up afterwards as well. Everyone’s happy!

Great food, next to impossible to find
Great product. Started my 13-1/2 year old lab Wilson on it. Been doing Kirkland food for him and my other dogs all their lives. Doing great, Wilson is,but has lost a step of course and wanted to up the quality of food. Great food, twice a day is best, and all my dogs Love It. But it's almost never available. Next time I see this stuff available I'm getting at least 5 boxes, all for Wilson for now, until this product becomes more reliable to purchase.

So pleased with this dog food
I’ve tried other dehydrated dog foods, and I find this to be the best value. My dog really likes it. She’s healthy, scratches less, and really enjoys it. My dogs are members of the family and deserve good quality dog food. I’m transitioning my rescue to Spot Farms currently and have noticed an improvement in her health. She was severely underweight when I got her and scratched a lot. She is now a healthy weight and her scratching has diminished a lot. Both my dogs have healthy coats. The price is good, and the ingredients are better.

Ingredient/nutritional list not in ad
I bought this thinking it would be the same/similar to Honest Kitchen. Well for the most part it is very similar. But be careful of the fat content. The fat in this food is 16 % Honest Kitchen is under 10%. If you have a dog that has had pancreatitis skip this food. Otherwise, both dogs loved this food.
