Weird answers to questions
I was stumped, mostly 5 star reviews and every question was answered with "It does NOT work at al!!! Waste of money!!! " This bug zapper works like a charm. It's in the garage. Every night I go to bed with 1 or 2 flies in the garage, when I go out in the morning they are all gone.

Works great for small insects, buy an air freshener at the same time
To be honest I've only had this product for hours. I have a terrible problem with Gnats and Fruit flies due to the area. I've been listening to this product absolutely decimate their population for a while. It starts with a sizzling, and may end with a snap. Much quieter than the tennis racket like bug zapper I bought last year. (it's a loud crack/snap/pop every time) Plus, it requires zero manual labor.Pros: seems to work well for smaller insects that fly. Gnats, Fruit Flies, Mosquitoes, etc. Does not require special setup or any bait. Just plug it in and place it on a surface or hang it up. Device has a minimal footprint. Low cost of operation, uses only 6W maximum. Ease of use.Cons: Device says you must ground the grid before cleaning it. You have to use something that is shielded to equalize the voltage before cleaning. AKA: a screwdriver with a plastic/rubber handle. If you touch the metal wires without doing this you're going to get a nasty shock. It smells like burning hair after the first kill. If you are using this in a small room that is not ventilated, the smell gets bad. You might want to consider getting an air filter or fragrance for continued operation in a small room. Smaller bugs often get stuck in the wires, meaning a bad infestation will require frequent cleaning.Best advice: Use indoors, or outside if there is zero chance of rain/water intrusion. When using indoors be sure it's a well-ventilated room. When using outside make sure there is no chance unit can encounter water. Don't expect device to kill large insects like house/horse flies. (smaller flies may be killed, but larger ones are deflected by the plastic case)Caveats: This will not kill bugs that cannot fly. Ticks, roaches, bed bugs, fleas, etc. The best trap for those insects have the attracting light and a sticky bed. (glue trap)

Did not work as advertised.
I feel compelled to write a review of this product since it performed so poorly despite having such positive reviews. We tried the product a few nights ago, placing it near us on the back porch where we sat for the evening. From light to dark to dusk (over the course of about two hours), this lamp only zapped one bug. Meanwhile, I got six mosquito bites. We saw several mosquitoes and other bugs hanging out near the mosquito lamp, basking in its warm glow, but only one ventured into the small openings of the grate to get zapped. I am really surprised that this thing gets so many positive reviews-- I'll be sending it back.

Disappointed
My house seems full of nasty mosquitoes. I searched on here in hopes to find something that would kill these dang bugs. I have 5 kids and they have been getting bitten nonstop. I needed something that would really work. After carefully doing research, i decided to order this. It’s been a few days and only a few tiny bugs have been caught in it. AND we’re all still getting crazy bug bites. Not sure if it’s just not working or its just not what i hoped it would be. :(Really disappointed and not what I expected.

Garbage Don't bother seems like fraudulent write ups
Wasted money!! Does not kill bugs as 75% of the people say. Notice that many of the reviews are very close together in dates and in the pattern written, very to the point. As if their employer told the employees to boost up the product The more critical reviews were more specific. Well I'm here to tell you it's junk. We've had it over 2 months outside my screened patio and not one dead bug. Not even a little gnat, we live in Florida so the mosquitoes are our state bird. None, zip, zero, a nada.... really don't waste your money on this junk. Going in the garbage as soon as I finish this. I gave it a 5 star on cleanliness. No mess to clean, since there aren't any bugs.

It does work
I had a lot of fruit flies in my apartment and this really helped a lot. Ever since I turned mine on a over a month and a half ago, I haven’t felt a fruit fly annoy me for a month now. It won’t get rid of the fly population overnight. Slowly but surely it did with mine. I placed this outside overnight with my plants because they were overrun with bugs. It was disgusting because my bottom collection tray after I brushed the wires clean was filled with bugs. I did notice a few were still alive so probably to some bugs the electric was not strong enough or they barely got shocked, fell then could not get out. It works but you need to give it time since the bugs need to find their way to the light. My only issue is that it’s not a breeze to brush the inner wires. It’s not difficult but a bit tedious. Maybe if the brush is a bit thinner it would make it even better but otherwise no complaints with mine.If there was a breeding ground or when you open the door, keep in mind that bugs can still come to your place. This doesn’t eliminate bugs if you have a source but it does great to control them. Just a tip, no type of bug repellent will ever be a replacement to cleanliness

Useless.
After 4 days of owning this product not a single mosquito or fly etc was killed. Yet they sure are flying around everywhere. The light is very dim and I don't see how they will ever want to fly towards this over anything else that might be emitting light.
