I've been suffering with melasma for about 10 yrs. Those who have the same problem know that it's not easy walking around with this issue. My self-esteem was terrible and having to wear make up all the time even in the hot summer months is awful. I tried every kind of treatment and read everything I could get my hands on about melasma and possible treatments. Absolutely nothing worked. When I read about the benefits of retinol I decided to give Watts Beauty 2.5% Retinol Serum a try. I also decided to stick with it and not stop after just a few weeks or months. It became part of my nightly routine. I've been using it since December 2015. I took the first photo just before starting the serum while I was at my lowest point and just kept at it. However, I have to be honest, I also use glycolic acid pads a couple of times a week but that is the extent of the products I use to combat the melasma. I use the retinol every night – I have oily skin so I don’t wear a moisturizer over it. I do, however, wear moisturizer and sunscreen before applying my foundation. I use sunscreen everyday rain or shine!The second photo was just taken this morning, 15 December 2019, and yes, that is four yrs., after I started to use this product. These results didn't happen overnight, or even after months of using the retinol - these results have been gradually occurring over the last four yrs. I am happy to say that I absolutely love the results and will continue to use this product, probably forever! Melasma is stubborn and mine is the worst so I can't stop...as you can see from the photos, I still have lots of hyper-pigmentation and I still have a long way to go but at least I know it has worked for me. And before you ask… no, I am not getting paid to post this feedback and I’m not affiliated with the company that makes this product. The only thing I received from them was a couple of bottles of the serum after I reached out to them, via email, when I thought they had changed something in their formula that made the serum feel different, so they sent me the bottles as a complimentary sample of their serum as a thank you for using their product and let me know that they had not changed their formula. That was about a year ago – I have never contacted them again. I’ve been meaning to write this feedback for all those folks who also suffer from melasma and tell them that there is hope and there are products, like the Watts retinol serum, that do work if you are patient and give them time.

I put it on at bed time and my skin looks clear, smooth and clean the next morning.I've been using this for a few years now.

Fantastic price. You get a generous amount for a reasonable price. Took off a star because it's not as good as the instanatural one. I do feel like this one is more moisturising then instanatural though, probs because of the aloe vera content.

I've been using this serum for a few years and although it is not a miracle product, I can say it is one of the very few things I put on my face, My skin is very sensitive and prone to breakouts, flaking and pigmentation. This serum is very lightweight, not greasy at all, does not dry my skin and does not make it peel off later on. It doesn't have a perfumey smell and I can wear it at night and during the day as a moisturizer under makeup mixed with a high SPF moisturizer. I don't know if it's this product or sheer luck but I just turned 40 and I still don't see any lines on my forehead, around my eyes or mouth. I have no regrets so far. It has given my skin a really nice tone and texture over time. It is not super moisturizing, so it's more for people with combination to normal skin. But if you skin is drier you might want to try something stronger. This is a very good product and the price is great too. BTW I did not get paid for this review, I just really like this serum.

I have been using Watts Retinol products for almost 3 years. I have used the cream versions as well. I prefer this Retinol serum.. I am getting older (62) but my skin is truly getting younger.. I use this & Watts peptide serum. I started using them both at the same time, so I really don't know if one is more effective than the other. 3 years ago I was concerned with fine wrinkles arround my eyes, that creapyness (I'm sure that's not spelled correctly).. I also had vertical wrinkles between my eyebrows, eyelids were a little saggy. All that is GONE! No crows feet, eyelids are well defined not saggy, fine lines are gone, no wrinkles on neck, no sagging, better overall texture.. both of these serums are in hyaluronic acid base. The peptide serum is also an excellant lip plumper.. I get comments from girlfriends that knew me in high school & only see.me every 3-5 years... Several wanted the exact details of what I am using, because they said my skin Iooked incredible & younger than it did 15 years ago... So I have been sharing my favorite Watts serums with all my friends. I also take a lot of vitamins, amino acids & enzymes internaly as well. I am sure this makes a big difference too. I found alot of the same amino acids in these serums... Arginine, A, C ,E, etc...

made my skin break out. Too strong. I only put on a very small amount once a day and it still freaked out. Had to throw it out. Complete waste of money. What was I going to do return an open bottle and pay the shipping? It wasn't worth it. Don't recommend.
