I tried many different things, lights and peppermint etc and could not stop packrats If I don’t drive my truck for couple days, they start making a nest. This one appears to be working. I tried it more than 6 months and did not want to write a review until I see some results. I still see rat foot prints on the dust in engine bay but they don’t make a nest or chew cables anymore. I gifted one to one of my friends.

I have one in my car, on the passenger side floor and I put one next to my battery on my riding lawn mower. Mice had made a nest in my cabinet filter of my car and chipmunks had removed some foam from mower seat. No issues since purchasing this alarm.

I have another brand, similar device that needs periodical power reset because it hangs for some reason. This one is much better and I feel works also better. It even helps to get rid of birds out of my tree. 4 stars because it makes loud clicking sound when it starts a series of ultrasound pulses.

I live in an area with lots of squirrels this item proved very effective as a deterrent and was easy to install and was completely noiseless in the engine compartment of my vehicle and was definitely worth the money I spent on it would definitely buy again.

Unfortunately it didn't work. We have a problem with mice getting into our car at campsites to eat any food left in the car overnight. I set this up on top of the sealed bin where we keep our food, but in the morning there were mouse droppings all around the device and chew marks along the edge of the food bin lid. Device lights flashed as described so I'm confident it was functional.For those with a similar problem, I think we've solved the issue by ensuring the AC "recirculate" is on so that whatever outside air vent is closed off. That seems to have fixed the issue of mice getting into the car. Unfortunately this device did not deter hungry mice before we figured out the air vent trick.

Was away for 6 months with this under the hood of my garaged car. A friend checked on it 3mo in: no mice. But upon return after 6mo, a cute little mouse and his family were found partying to the strobe lights under the hood! Upsides: battery didn't die and was all-clear for 3mo. Downsides: the mice apparently got used to it.

Since I have installed on my car I have not seen any more signs of mice. super easy to install under the hood. I really like the fact it uses AA batteries!! I took a several hour long trip on a hot day, that night i checked to see if it still worked since it is around so much heat under the hood, and it was still working just as it should have been, seems to be built to last.

My girlfriend & I have the older versions on our cars & they work great. We like the newer version because it uses AA batteries instead of C batteries allowing the new one to be shorter in height making it even easier to place it under hood. When car is in motion, unit senses movement and turns off & turns back on when no motion is sensed. There is also a hardwired version available. This product does work.
