Chalk doesn't come out consistently enough to write or see what you are trying to write
The packaging was cute, the colors were fine. I chose thin (1mm) chalk pens so I could write on my monthly chalkboard calendar. These take a long time to get going- I had to press them up and down for 5-10 minutes each to get the chalk to start going. I could see the chalk on a paper plate or napkin (when I was getting them started) but the ink was mostly not visible on a black chalkboard. Worse than that, is that not only were the colors not all bright enough to stand out, EVERY TIME I tried to write something (I'm talking one letter here) the chalk would only come out initially at the top of the letter and then would not have enough chalk flowing to actually WRITE with them. They're so frustrating and unsatisfying to use on my calendar, I can't even use them. I am back to the initial set of 4 I got from Target. DO NOT buy these if you want to write with them....which I would assume you do.

markers no longer working
I purchased these three months ago to use on a glass covered calendar. The first month we did the calendar it took quite awhile to get the markers primed, and two never worked. Those two colors didn't show up well on the black calendar background, so I was annoyed but not too broken up about it. The markers cleaned off nicely for the next month, however when we went to use the markers to create the calendar for the second month it took even longer to prime them, and now half of them didn't work at all. Now we just cleaned off the 2nd month (again, cleaned off nicely) but were never able to get any of the markers to work to use them for creating the calendar for the 3rd month.

Not as amazing as I hoped.
I bought the 1mm markers for our family whiteboard calendar. I needed something that would not wipe off like dry erase markers do, but would let me write with fine lines. I also needed the multiple colors to color code for my four kiddos, husband, school stuff, etc.I wanted to like these SOOOO badly but I really am disappointed. Most of them write smoothly but I had a lot of trouble with the green. It just did not seem to want to flow out at all. A few of them come out well but not consistently. The black and red seemed to do wonderful.Next issue is that they do smear badly when you rub them at all. I barely rubbed my dry finger across it and it smeared badly. See attached photo for an example.Last issue is that the colors aren't exactly as pictured. The green is quite bright but not bad. However, the orange is so neon I can barely see it (see picture). I was expecting it to be much more muted. Same for the yellow, but that one I wasn't really expecting to see on the whiteboard.Haven't quite decided if I want to keep these. Still trying to decide.

So far so good!
The title and 4-stars is such because so far, this brand is the only one I've seen with fine tipped chalk markers. The tip is very strong plastic, so don't worry about it messing up when starting them off.I also have their Earth Colors, but since trying these, I realized that the troubleshooting I've been having with the earth colors might be because of a defective batch. But when they want to work they work GOOD.This batch didn't take much at all to get the ink flowing, and the colors are great! One thing I did notice from this comparing to the earth colors, is that the ink runs WAY more smoothly on these, but I think too good that I feel a lot comes out so I don't get such a fine-tipped feel on these versus the earth colors, but then again the ink on the earth colors doesn't run as smooth as these. That's why so far so good, I use my chalk markers a lot so we'll see how these hold up but for my post it's, they're perfect! And I have a black glass desk that I use them on too for notes, reminders, calculations, and I love it so much.So yeah!

Disappointed
Out of the 10 markers only 2 actually wrote well enough to use on my calendar. The 2 that work (white and blue) are great and I love how easily they write. However, the other 8 that don’t work are quite disappointing. You are supposed to shake them and then pump the market head up and down for 1-2 minutes until the ink comes down the tip. I have pumped them for longer than that and the ink still won’t come down enough to get the marker to write well. On some of the markers the ink has overflowed out of the edges of the marker tip, but not out of the tip itself. It’s too bad because I really do like the ones that work.UPDATE:Seller got back to me and sent me a new pack for free. All the new markers worked fine except one that came broken in the box. However, after several uses and a couple weeks storage with no use, the markers clogged up and won’t let any ink out, even when storing correctly and pumping the pen for a while. I wouldn’t recommend getting these particular markers. However, the thicker tipped markers that I got (felt tip, same brand) work great! So I would recommend those over this style of marker.

Turns out, chalk is not my thing.
Returning, but maybe I'm just not a chalk person. It's hard to get the "ink" flowing brand new out of the box. Probably normal though. When "pumping" to get more chalk to the tip, I was paranoid that it would ruin the sharp fine tip. Probably just paranoia. The barrels are VERY short, so I don't know how long they would last. Definitely not for people with "chubby" hands like me.The colors are vibrant though and the sharp tips seem to be good for fine details. Definitely NOT for beginners, but experienced or ACTUAL artists might be extremely pleased.I doubt I'll buy anymore chalk pens, but if I do ... it'll be the 3mm tips. This is my first experience with chalk, but seems to be a good price for the quantity and they don't feel cheap.

Temperamental ink flow
When the ink flows well they look great but my experience writing on windows was really difficult, it was like using a biro that was running out, needing constant shaking and turning around. I struggled to even draw a simple line. The nibs are not secure either so when I took the lid off the first pen the nib flew out and is now lost in my garden. I had to be really careful taking the lids off the others. The intention for purchase was to find a fun way of teaching my little boy to write and draw but my experience unfortunately is that they are far from suitable.

Missing nib - avoid!
It's such a shame, these pens would have been great but they came with one nib missing (black) & there's no way to get in touch with the seller & arrange a replacement - we didn't want to return as my daughter wanted to get on & use them for a project - they're quite expensive to have one whole colour effectively missing, very disappointing!

Disappointed!!!!!
I am very disappointed 3 out of the pack are not working properly. If it wasn’t for the fact I needed these desperately for a project I would return them. As it is I 2 of the colours I need do not work but I will just have to cope with the few I have. The ones that work are good. But honestly truly disappointed. And cannot even contact the seller. Only option is to return!!

Great chalk pens.
Easy to use. Took a while to get the ink up the pen tip. Most of the pens in the pack work really well, a couple need a bit of coaxing! Lovely having the range of colours and the thin nib is ideal for jar labels. The pen stays on fairly well, but can come off a bit under the warmth of a finger. Wipe off easy and change label name which I like.

Don't waste your money
These are very disappointing. I don't want to waste anymore money by sending them back. I spent some time getting the ink to flow on all of them, only to find the ink stopped, you press the nib to start the flow again, then you write about 3 letters, then start the process again...very frustrating.
