Best DARKSIDE MC Tire for Honda VTX 1800c
Awesome REAR MC tire! Been running these on the back of a Honda VTX 1800c for 60k miles now between a couple bikes, handles like it's on rails! 1 of these will last YEARS for less than 1/2 the cost of 1 MC tire.

A Great tire... in the opinion of a Tire Freak
Yes, I'm a Tire Freak. Because you get what you pay for. I've gone in the Ditch, slid off the road, gotten stuck, and I've had too many flats with cheap tires. I'f not worth the headache. I drive on dirt roads, over mountain passes during both the summer and winter, in hot weather, rain, I drive through it all. After reading good reviews about this tire I bought these over the Michelin Primacy because I found the Primacys to be unimpressive on Dry roads. The Siping makes the Primacy wander on Ruts and Uneven roads. Although the Primacys had excellent Wet, Icy, and Snowy performance that beat out the Tripletreads but not by that much.I have this tire on my 1997 Toyota Camry V6 with 16" aftermarket rims. I bought these in Feburary of 2010 and I've put almost 50k miles on them. As far as performance goes the Tripletreads are the best tires I've ever owned.ProsGood Traction on Icy roads, snow, wet, and even dry roads. Not 1 Flat after 50k miles.Thick sidewalls with extra rubber near the bead that help protect aftermarket rims.ConsThese tires have a 75k mile warranty but they're not going to make it past 60k miles. They wore out evenly though. However, after reading many reviews I was aware of this flaw.I lost about 2-3mpg with these tires. That's to be expected with tires that grip the road well. People can try as they might but they can't have the best of both worlds. Fuel efficient tires perform average when the weather gets rough.I have to air these tires up once ever 2 months, With my Primacy Tires I just checked them and rarely had to put air into them.I've worn through a set of the coveted Michelins Primacy MVX4 on another car and I can say the Tripletreads perform better. I think it's not only the design of the tire and the Siping that helps, but also it's the sticky rubber compound that's used in the Tripletread. I'm giving this a 5 star rating because the Tripletreads made my Camry corner and feel like I was driving a sports car. The cheaper tires that came on my Camry made it feel like a Grannymobile. These tires prove that tires effect performance. Don't go cheap on tires, it's not worth it.However, I'm not certain it I'll putt the Tripletreads on my Camry when it comes time to put a new set on it. I've owned 2 sets of Michelins and I never had a flat with those. Also, the Primacys lasted longer and performed better in bad weather. The Primacys have pretty much been discontinued and now it's the Michelin Premier A/S that's available. No matter what tire you buy, when it gets down to 5/32 tread it loses performance. Those tires that worked great in the snow one year may not be so great when they're getting to the end of their rope. Usually though, when a tires gets worn it decreases it's rolling resistance so you'll get better mileage. Unless it's necessary, buying a new set of tires during the early Fall season is a good rule of thumb. If you're tires are at 3/32 you might as well because with that much tread they're as good as those performance street tires you see on big rims.
